Ich denke, da muss man vorsichtig sein. Gerade bei dem größten Peak sind mir zwei Effekte aufgefallen: 1. eine doch deutlich hörbare Verzerrung, 2. aufgrund der entstehenden Harmonien einen Aufbau an unteren Mitten, die die Stimme bissl schlammig klingen lassen. Letzteres kann man sicher mit einem (dynamischen) EQ wegkriegen. Die Verzerrung allerdings wird ja nur dadurch verringert, indem man die Tapeemulator Plugins weniger hart ansteuert. Dann ist aber auch der Kompressionseffekt geringer. Bin mir daher bei der ganzen Sache ob ihrer Effektivität etwas unsicher . . .

I personally would like to see the actual sound difference between your method and a compressor what you mean with "more natural"

Compressors are just way more common even in low budget live applications like a Zoom H5, Behringer X Air, Soundcraft Ui and I rather have any dynamics processsing than nothing when I don't have a saturation effect or plug-in.

I love compressors, fet, opto, vca, but no Vst for me.
